This book made me into a bad person for three days. It made me hate performing vital bodily functions, such as eating and using the bathroom. It made me become even MORE antisocial than what I normally am. The reason? They all took time away from reading this book!

There are already many good reviews about Evenfall, so I won't go into the details here. The book is told mostly from the viewpoint of Sin and Boyd (I would say 60% is told from Boyd, 39% Sin; there was a couple of brief instances that were told from other characters' POV). Both characters progress dramatically from the beginning of the book to the end. The changes are believable and astounding to the point of complete satisfaction upon completion. For the most part, pacing is not an issue. Very few instances felt like it "drag," and the story progressed accordingly. The emotions were ramped up in this novel: I've laughed, I've cried, I've felt my heart racing.

Now the bad (don't worry, there isn't too many!). I know I said pacing, for the most part, is not an issue. But there were definitely moments when almost too MUCH detail was being described on a scene that was brief: such as describing the outside environment extensively when 90% of the events occur inside a residential building; or a scouting mission when one of the characters rummage through many empty rooms and discover nothing important. Another issue, which I don't feel is too significant being an unpublished work, but I feel obligated to note is some proofreading errors. It seemed to become more apparent towards the end of the novel, but it didn't detract from the my enjoyment of the novel.

But overall, I absolutely enjoyed this book (probably my favorite for 2013). My only wish was that we had more Boyd x Sin moments, as there were many circumstances (such as missions) that drove these two apart!
